Cry Havoc
“Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war.” —Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar
About The book
Cry Havoc is a creator-owned mythical/military/modern thriller, published by Image.
It is not about Werewolves.
Written by Si Spurrier (Hellblazer, The Dreaming, Coda) and drawn by Ryan Kelly (Stronghold, Lucifer, Northlanders), its pages are divided between three stages in the life of a remarkable woman, each having its own colorist: Nick Filardi, Lee Loughridge and Matt Wilson.
Lettering is by Simon Bowland, design is by Emma Price.
Cry Havoc tells the story of Louise Canton, a London-based street musician who’s attacked by something impossible. Its influence drags to the surface all the deep conflicts which simmer inside her.
To escape its long shadow, Lou embarks on a journey into war-torn Afghanistan with a shady Private Security outfit, all of whose members – like her – are hiding monstrosity inside their hearts.
Elevator pitches are the worst, but to cover the bases we’ve taken to saying Cry Havoc is something a little like “Jarhead” by way of “Pan’s Labyrinth”.
